Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate
• Departure: Depart Marrakech early (7:00-8:00 AM) heading south, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass. Enjoy the views and stop for photos.
• First stop: Arrive at Ait Ben Haddou (about 3-4 hours), the famous adobe kasbah. Spend time exploring the fortified village and having lunch at a local restaurant with a view.
• Continue: Continue to Ouarzazate (30-40 minutes), known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Visit the Taourirt Kasbah or the Atlas Film Studios, where films such as Gladiator have been shot.
• Night: Accommodation in a hotel or riad in Ouarzazate. Dinner included if part of a tour.
Total distance: Approximately 200 km (about 4-5 hours with stops).
Day 2: Ouarzazate - Dades Valley - Todra Gorges
• Morning: After breakfast, depart for the Dades Valley (approximately 2-3 hours), passing through Skoura and the Valley of the Roses. Stop at the rock formations known as "Monkey Fingers" if you're interested.
• Midday: Continue to Todra Gorge (about 45 minutes from Boumalne Dades). Explore this impressive canyon, walk along the river, and have lunch at a nearby restaurant.
• Afternoon: You can stay a little longer to enjoy the scenery or take a light walk.
• Night: Accommodation in a riad or hotel in Tinghir or near the gorges. Typical Moroccan dinner.
Total distance: Approximately 170 km (about 4-5 hours with stops).
Day 3: Todra Gorges - Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert)
• Morning: Depart after breakfast for Merzouga (approximately 3-4 hours). Along the way, pass through Erfoud (famous for its fossils) and the Jorf Palm Grove. Stop for lunch or a rest.
• Arrival in Merzouga: Arriving in the afternoon (around 3:00-4:00 PM), change vehicles for camels for a 1-1.5-hour ride to the Berber camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset from the top of a dune.
• Night: Dinner at the camp (tajine or couscous), Berber music with drums and accommodation in a tent under the stars.
Total distance: Approximately 250 km (about 5-6 hours with stops, plus the camel ride).
Day 4: Merzouga - Marrakech
• Morning: Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, an unforgettable experience. Have breakfast at the camp and return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4.
• Return: Begin the return trip to Marrakech (approximately 9-10 hours). You'll pass through Rissani (optional stop if there's a market), the Draa Valley, and Ouarzazate. Have lunch along the way, perhaps in Nkob or Agdz to break the journey.
• Arrival: You will be back in Marrakech in the evening (6:00-8:00 PM), depending on traffic and stops.
Total distance: Approximately 560 km (9-10 hours with stops).
